HOK Product Design and Pallas Textiles proudly introduce the Valetudo™ Collection. Latin for health and wellness, Valetudo is a collection inspired by the idea that our surrounding environments – whether it’s inside a centuries-old cathedral, underground waiting for a subway or sitting on a park bench – help balance mind, body and spirit.
The Valetudo Collection is part of the “Goes Not Matches” family of high-performance textiles and finishes for healthcare—a collaboration among Pallas Textiles, Mannington Commercial, CS Acrovyn and Clarus Glassboards that seeks to transform healthcare facilities into balanced, comforting environments for patients and staff with a comprehensive, timeless palette of complementary designs and colors.
“When designing hospital, acute care and assisted living interior applications, it’s absolutely critical that manufacturer’s products speak to each other, including textiles, furnishings and finishes,” said David White, vice president and general manager, Pallas Textiles. “The Valetudo Collection offers a timeless, comprehensive palette of colors and patterns that provides complementary designs that help transform healthcare facilities without sacrificing aesthetics and style.”
Taking cues from traditional stained-glass designs and hand-crafted artisan tiles, the Valetudo Collection translates these typical hard-surface patterns into the softness of textiles. The end result is classic yet modern patterns that lend themselves beautifully in any application.
The Valetudo Upholstery Collection includes:
Trellis is reminiscent of classic treillage patterning. The latticework filters light, harmoniously unifying both contrast and texture. A Trellis provides balance and support – important aspects of a healthy lifestyle. Trellis is available in 12 colorways: Opal, Alabaster, Citrine, Topaz, Amethyst, Peridot, Erenite, Sapphire, Quartz, Slate, Obsidian and Onyx.
Designing a mosaic is the art of intricately arranging tiles. This delicate process harkens back to classic craftsmanship by replicating interwoven assemblages that read differently, depending upon the relationship of color and texture. Mosaic is available in 14 colorways: Opal, Citrine, Topaz, Garnet, Light Emerald, Peridot, Emerald, Erenite, Quartz, Hematite, Morion, Obsidian, Slate and Onyx.
This beautiful tessellation of circular mosaic tiles creates a radial pattern of overlapping infill petals that beckon to a soft and exciting pattern with subtle movements of accent color throughout a monochrome field. Petals offers 17 colors: Opal, Alabaster, Citrine, Topaz, Ruby, Garnet, Amethyst, Light Emerald, Peridot, Erenite, Aqua Marine, Tanzanite, Sapphire, Quartz, Slate, Obsidian and Onyx.
Inspired by flame stitch patterns seen in early stained glass and textile designs, Flame’s chevron pattern elicits movement and excitement through its rhythmic bands of color. Flame is available in 14 colorways: Opal, Limestone, Citrine, Topaz, Ruby, Garnet, Light Emerald, Peridot, Emerald, Erenite, Quartz, Slate, Alabaster and Onyx.
High performance and sustainability are a part of the Pallas promise, from which the Valetudo Collection does not stray:
- Trellis, Mosaic, Petals and Flame offer Greenshield®, an environmentally safe high-performance nanotechnology that builds permanent spill and stain resistance into the fiber structure of the fabric, while preserving the hand of the fabric.
The Valetudo Upholstry collection is part of a coordinating suite of interior finishes for healthcare environments - The Goes Not Matches collection.
The product was designed by Donald Cremers of HOK San Francisco and HOK alum Eric Koffler.
